Overall team / department purpose

- The Business Improvement function uses a range of project and process improvement tools and techniques to enable business improvement projects and other activities to enhance performance improvement and process efficiencies for our business.

- The aim of this function is to ensure that appropriate processes and procedures are continually in place to enable delivery of the overall strategically aligned change road map.

Key role priorities

- This role is responsible for the delivery of the strategically aligned Change Roadmap and for ensuring that the right tools, in particular in enabling continuous improvement, are embedded across our business to support teams in developing operational efficiencies and adding value to customers via business metrics.

Key working relationships

- This role line manages the Business Improvement Team and is required to interact on a regular basis with leaders and teams across all levels and functional areas of our business.

- The role involves the provision of advice, presentation of information and training across the full range of business improvement activities and project management activities.

- External to our business, the role is required to manage external consultants where required and to liaise with other external stakeholders in respect of benchmarking and networking for best practice and horizon scanning to drive change.

Main duties & responsibilities

- Develop and deliver the strategically aligned Change Roadmap.

- Lead and manage business improvement projects, working with key stakeholders to ensure that projects are managed to time, and deliverables are embedded across our business.

- Provide the critical role of identifying, initiating, developing and driving the businesses approach to project and process improvement through the application of continuous improvement principles, methods and tools.

- Own and provide oversight of Livv’s approach to business/process architecture which reflects the current and future state operating model.

- Impact assess changes across the whole business and ensure that the architecture reflects the changes.

- Develop in-house capabilities across our business, through coaching and training the Business Improvement team and developing a long term approach to the application of continuous improvement across our business.

- Manage and oversee the day to day activities of the team to ensure that the direction of work taken is aligned to overall business objectives.

- Use skills, knowledge and experience in business improvement methodologies and tools such as ‘Lean’ to partner with business functions in identifying areas of process improvement that will improve quality and drive positive impact to our business delivery and customer experience/satisfaction.

- Map and understand end to end business processes and support detailed sub procedures including those which are strategic, operational, of a customer engagement and/or supporting corporate functions nature.

- Embed knowledge across our business so that a continuous improvement approach is developed and implemented to both operational and strategic work.

- Ensure that process redesign is repeatable and sustainable and that rework and cycle times are reduced, while improving quality and capacity to deliver greater volume.

- Oversee multiple business improvement activities across our business.

- Support business activity to drive improvements which makes our business effective and efficient.

- Engage with leaders and teams to identify and gain support for improvement projects.

- Coach and train colleagues across the organisation on business improvement tools, methodologies and philosophies and develop a business improvement approach for our business.

- Develop a strategic plan through the application of business improvement methodologies to support our business in achieving its core activities.

- Complete any other tasks as commensurate with the level and nature of the post as delegated by the role’s line manager.

- Change capability across our business improved, improving the maturity of the whole business in relation to Change Management.

Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience in housing or other service sector (E)

Experience

Demonstrable experience of project and process improvement expertise (E)

Senior level experience in a regulated/housing/similar working environment (D)
