Overall team / department purpose
- The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for ensuring that our business has in place a dynamic, proactive and engaging marketing and communications strategy which protects and enhances our businesses reputation, communicates effectively with customers and colleagues and promotes business products and services.
- The team act as ambassadors for the brand and with all associated activities being planned, managed and delivered to fully support our business Vision, Values and Corporate Plan.
Key role priorities
- This role is responsible for the planning and management of PR activities for our business.
- This includes gathering good news stories, writing press releases, dealing with enquiries from the public and press and building relationships with local media to ensure positive coverage.
- The role involves social media content delivery and monitoring key activity within the team to enable reporting against targets.
- This role will also support with content creation and delivery of both internal and external communications including intranet, staff magazine, award bids, events, website articles etc.
Key working relationships
- The role is required to work in a collaborative and proactive manner with colleagues across the Marketing & Communications team and across our business to ensure effective delivery of all marketing related activities from a PR and Communications perspective in particular.
- The role also acts as a first point of contact for incoming enquiries to the team by email and telephone, both from internal and external customers.
- Externally, the holder is required to liaise with printers, sponsors and other stakeholders, both in respect of the production of marketing materials and planning of promotional events.
Main duties & responsibilities
- Source positive news stories from across all functions and departments across our business.
- Build relationships and a network of contacts with regional and trade journalists.
- Lead on monitoring the public and media’s opinion of our business.
- Research, write and edit stories for use across a range of media including press releases, case studies, social media, newsletters, and brochures.
- Develop and deliver an annual stakeholder engagement plan – including keeping the stakeholder database up to date, creating and managing targeted e-newsletters.
- Be responsible for distributing stories with relevant imagery/video to the media, repurposing the content for inclusion on intranet, social media, colleague magazine, customer magazine and on the customer facing website etc.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications Coordinator to produce Livv’s quarterly colleague magazine; playing a key role in sourcing, drafting and proofreading content.
- Lead on the internal awards calendar, writing compelling award bids to ensure an award-winning business.
- Film and edit videos for use on intranet and social media, bringing stories and projects to life in alternative ways.
- Provide key support in planning and facilitating internal events such as annual conference and charity days.
- Draft intranet articles and ensure the channel is constantly updated with relevant news.
- Attend relevant events or community activities to collate information and photography; take photos for use on social media or direct a photographer when attending larger events.
- Deal with press enquiries, including time critical media responses, working collaboratively with senior leaders to prepare media statements.
- Liaise closely with external partners to ensure a joined-up approach to relevant communications.
- Provide a proofreading resource for documents for the wider team.
- Be responsible for PR monitoring and producing reporting on coverage gained, reach, PR value etc.
- Produce monthly reporting reflective of activity performance across the Marketing & Communications team.
- Support the Communications Manager and wider Marketing & Communications team as appropriate.
- Ensure everything produced is on brand and reflects our business’s agreed tone of voice.
- Support with social media content creation for our brands, products and services.
- Complete any other tasks commensurate with the level and nature of the posts as delegated by the role’s line manager.

Education & Qualifications
PR, journalism or media related degree or CIPR related qualification of at least level 6 and/or equivalent relevant experience (E)
Experience
